Answer This Question

On Wednesday, we talked (among many things) about Christian Stereotypes. And it was awesome.

We actually made a small list of some of the things we've heard through the years.

Then we ripped up our lists.

Because Christianity isn't about a list of do's and dont's. It's not about acting perfect and saying the right things. And it's certainly not about judging others. That's human corruption and dead religion.

It's an invitation more than anything...to a life filled with meaning, love, acceptance, and purpose. It's like nothing this world has to offer.

IT'S A RELATIONSHIP.

The most rewarding, difficult, understanding, relationship you can ever be a part of.

All you have to do is accept the invitation.

Does this change your thoughts on personal faith at all?
Does this make sense?

  1. I absolutely loved this blog. It definitely reinforces what I already knew in my heart: it's my relationship with my Lord. My spiritual atonement is defined by my progress with Him.

And faith does not incorporate the guilt, the persecution and greed that historically accompanies, as you said, dead religion. In order to break that misconception we must do His will, not our own, and the world will know what true Christianity is really about.

  3. I really like Discussion. I don't have a youth group I can attend every week, and sometimes I feel like life is rough.

Discussion gives me time to think about everything I have heard in the past and gives me the chance to try and reapply it to my life.
